David Vidgen Ltd are an Inbound Marketing Agency in Birmingham. They specialise in marketing for the construction and beauty industries including website design for small businesses in Birmingham and website conversions. They believe that the purpose of any website is to bring new leads and customers, and to do this you need a mixture of complex marketing skills including search engine optimisation and an advanced understanding of Google, conversion rate optimisation, persuasive copyrighting skills, to name a few.
There are many web design companies, but most just design professional looking websites. The problem with this is that they are often invisible to search engines because they have not been designed with ‘Search’ in mind. Designing a website that is search friendly is really just the start, it’s easy to get visitors to your site, the much harder part is to get them to convert into leads and new customers – that’s where we come in.
A website is much more that just an online brochure. We have a really good understanding of how to build trust in a website, it’s when you get the trust of your visitors that they will begin to think about buying from you. Without trust, few will buy from you.
One of the ways we build trust with our construction websites is to leverage customer reviews, professional reviews, professional memberships and trade associations, education, skills and qualifications. Many of these elements (with the exception of reviews) are often put on pages that never seen the light of day, when these are really useful trust symbols that will help a visitor turn into a lead. These elements should be prominently displayed on your most popular pages, and make a point of drawing your visitors attention to them.
Client and professional reviews are really good for building trust. The best type of reviews go beyond just words. Video reviews are the very best type that any business can have because they put a name, job title and personality to the review. If you can aim for video reviews, followed by reviews with a name, then finally anonymous reviews. You should really only use anonymous reviews if no other types of reviews can be obtained.
The construction industry in particular has had it’s fair share of rogue traders. So the more trust elements you can build into your content, the lower the perceived risk is for potential clients.
